African Biodiversity & Conservation is published by the South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI). ABC aims to publishes scientifically robust peer-reviewed studies on African biodiversity and conservation in a manner that is free, accessible and ethical, and that maintains high quality standards throughout..
The journal publishes original research articles, reviews, data descriptors, nomenclatural changes, new distribution records, short communications, and commentaries. ABC also publishes special issues emanating from symposia or conferences or on a particular topic within the scope of the journal.

This is an open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. African Biodiversity & Conservation is included in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).
There are currently no page processing charges for authors.
The journal publishes at least one issue each year. Articles are published online when ready for publication and then printed in an end-of-year compilation. Additional issues may be published for conference proceedings or symposia or for special themes.
